  • This sermon was given by Woodrow Wilson’s father, Joseph Ruggles Wilson, in 1861 to his congregation in Augusta Georgia. In it, Joseph Wilson utilizes the Bible to justify the institution of slavery in the United States. The sermon was so well received in Augusta, Georgia that it was soon published to distribute.
